RoleModel

For the Role Model project I have chosen my best friend, Catherine Curti. Since our freshman year in high school we have become unbelievably close and pretty much inseparable. It wasn’t too easy to become so close with her because she was always so busy. She had played varsity soccer, basketball and softball every season of every year. Not only was she a very dedicated athlete, she also got straight A’s and finished high school with a 93 GPA. Her being able to manage playing sports throughout the year and maintaining her grades to be this high, I think she will become very successful in life. She is now attending High Point University with a major in Education. She has three little brothers of her own which she has always helped out with around the house. Knowing that she is smart, athletic and loving, I feel that she has to potential to become very successful.

My College Experience So Far.

So far my college experience has been pretty enjoyable. The first day here was pretty stressfulwith moving in and going out and buying last minute things. I live in Lima on the fourth floor and I'm in a triple. One of my roommates, Courtney, is from Middleburgh and the other one, Michelle, is from White Plains. From going out and buying everything to setting everything up, the first day went well. My first night here went pretty well too. We attempted to go out and find a party but instead just walked around which was pretty fun anyways and it was nice to get to know a few more people. I haven't become too close with my roommates but we're civil and still hangout every now and then and grab something to eat. I have become very good friends with two girls who room together in Lima on the second floor, Caitlyn and Christina. Us three went to Lake George two weekends ago to stay with Caitlyn's dad which was really fun since I'd never been to Lake George.
So far my classes are also pretty enjoyable. I'm taking an American Red Cross lifeguarding class which I like a lot and will be certified to lifeguard at the end of the semester. I also really enjoy this English class and my Intro to Mass Media class. I'm taking Educational Computing which is a class that teaches you how to use all of the Microsoft Office programs and is mandatory to take if you are going to be a teacher. My major is Early Childhood Education/Special Ed. so I have to learn how to teach the children how to use these programs. I'm also taking Ethics and Values which is pretty boring and half of the class is online which is pretty easy because then I only have to go to class once a week.
So far I'm enjoying this school so much and I hope I continue to enjoy it as much as I am.
